Srinagar, Feb 12 (KNO): Continuing its action against drug peddlers, Police in Bandipora attached property (i,e Three story House with Attic) of notorious drug peddler namely Mohd Shafi Sheikh son of Mohd Shahbaz Sheikh resident of Ward No 5 Sheikh Mohalla Bandipora under section 68-F of NDPS Act 1985.
According to a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the said peddler is found involved in cases vide FIR No. 110/2022 US 8/20,29 NDPS ACT and FIR No. 183/2022 US 8/20,29 NDPS ACT Of Police Station Bandipora.
The property was identified as illegally acquired property during the course of Investigation/Enquiry conducted by Bandipora Police. The property was prima facia acquired from illicit trafficking of Narcotic drugs and Psychotropic Substances by the owner. The notorious drug peddler was detained at Kot Bhalwal Jail Jammu under PIT-NDPS Act and has been released.
This operation reaffirms the commitment of J&K Police to combat the drug menace. Local people of the area hailed the initiative of J&K Police with regard to the attachment of immoveable properties which has been raised/ used from illicit trafficking of narcotics by the drug peddler—(KNO)
